Don't you feel that life is an illusion?Well, this was something that I've felt for quite a long time. But,we never realised the 'gravity' of life as kids.We were maybe just happy in our own world then.So why doesn't life appeal to me the same way as it used to do?
Is it the circumstances that have changed or is it my mindset? We seek the answers to questions that have puzzled us but the source of our answers is still unknown.
Life is the gap between birth and death. We're mortal souls with a fixed lifespan in this planet. This mortality is really a boon if you see it in the way I do.It is tough to understand the purpose of the gift of life which we've been conferred upon by God.
We have been assigned a mission in life but finding the purpose or meaning of one's life is so difficult. It is not merely chasing your addictions or the things that you need to hold on to your life. Many people think that the purpose of life is to work hard, get a good job,a high salary and get settled.
People work hard to earn their livelihood;to get the means that helps them to survive. But then why aren't people satisfied with what they get.The greed for money and gold has destroyed the lives of many people. Many men have wasted their entire life chasing a metal which they know as gold. Many have wasted it in desiring for paper which they value and call 'currency notes'.
Fixing the scrambled pieces of life isn't easy. Most of us have a materialistic pursuit rather than a moral and an intellectual pursuit. These materialistic things are baseless, useless but man has attached a lot of importance to it.With that comes his ego,his desire to show his superiority and self-importance.Men boast about their grades, their salaries, their cars, their rich mansions and bunglows but these materialistic conquests are glories that shall only lead to grave.
The soul does not carry any earthly object with it.We're born alone and we die alone.Still we need friends and family without which our life would be even more monotonous and tedious.
Finally I would like to say,Economics teaches us to make 'best use of our available resources'.There's nothing more resourceful than our life.As a well-spent day brings happy sleep at night,so life well used.....brings a happy death. The purpose of our life should be to leave foot prints on the sands of time or rather I should say marks on the hearts and minds of the people so that they remember us for who we are and what we've done in our lives even after death. That would really be an achievement in the true sense. :)
